For the concluding session of the 3rd-year elective in European Sustainability Policies, Thomas Hörber opted for a very appropriate green setting in visiting the Maison de l’Environnement in Angers, managed by Angers Loire Métropole, the community authority of the wider Angers region.

Beyond enjoying the lovely spring weather around the Lac de Maine, this field visit had several other objectives:

Anne Lebeugle, director of the Maison de l’Environnement, presented the authorityies’ policy and actions in favour of sustainability across the 30 municipalities that make up the community of the Angers region.

Her presentation was followed by a discussion with ESSCA’s sustainability officer Pascale Beldent, who explained the school’s efforts in sustainable development and social responsibility.

To conclude the session, students were encouraged to discusse how to put the knowledge acquired in class to good use in both their daily life and their future professional career.

The PowerPoint presentation of Mrs Lebeugle can be consulted here.
