EU-China-CRN-logo (small)From 19 to 21 March 2015 the 4th Workshop on Europe-China Relations in Global Politics will be hosted by the Sichuan University in Chengdu, China.

This year’s debates and presentations will deal with the thematic focus of ‘Cities as Actors in EU-Asia Cooperation’.

With over 40 speakers from academia, politics and civil society, coming from a large variety of different countries and various continents, this workshop has grown into an important yearly forum of exchange.

The programme is organised around four main themes:

  1. From Theory to Practice: Cities as Actors in International Relations
  2. Cities as Creative Cradles: Innovative Business Solutions to Enhance Urban Quality of Life
  3. Building Smart & Green Cities: Science & Technology Cooperation for Sustainable Urbanisation
  4. Public Diplomacy: Urban Socio-Cultural Dynamics as a Vehicle for EU-Asia Cooperation.

The event is jointly organised by the Graduate School of Global Politics at Free University Berlin and Sichuan University in Chengdu which will also kindly host the Workshop.

The event takes place in the framework of the UACES Collaborative Research Network on EU-China Relations (ESSCA School of Management at Angers / College of Europe at Bruges / Graduate School of Global Politics at Free University Berlin). It is generously supported by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Shanghai.
