EUROPEAN SPACE POLICY

Call for Papers:

Panel for the 47th UACES Annual Conference

Topic: European Space Policy

Date: 4-6 September, 2017

Convenor: EU*Asia Institute, ESSCA School of Management

Venue: Institute for European Studies, Jagiellonian University, Krakow, Poland

See: http://uaces.org/events/conferences/krakow/

This panel will focus on European space politics. It will analyse EU space governance and the attempt to establish a common space policy in the EU. This raises questions of sovereignty which also touch on questions of the relations between the ESA and the EU. Question of dual-use technologies in European space programmes, such as Galileo, may also be a suitable topic for this panel. The politics of further European integration through space policies remain the main concern of this panel.

The call is open to scholars at all levels, including postgraduate students, and submissions from practitioners in the field are particularly welcome.

Please send an abstract of 150-200 words to Prof Thomas Hoerber (Thomas.Hoerber@essca.fr)

Deadline: Friday, 16 December, 2016 for the UACES deadline in January 2017
