Save the date: Workshop on cooperatives and socio-economic changes on 18 December 2019 (Angers campus).

According to different authors, cooperatives play an important role in building a more balanced economy (Stiglitz, 2009; Birchall, 2013). Hannan (2014) explains that cooperatives “are part of the market economy but possess a multi-dimensionality that enables them to perform in market economies while providing members with a range of tangible and intangible benefits that have the potential to enhance their socio-economic position and voice”.

To discuss the key role of cooperatives and how they are linked to socio-economic changes, we are pleased to invite researchers with expertise in the field. In particular, we are proud to welcome Murray Fulton, from the University of Saskatchewan.
