With the recent release of Female Football Players and Fans – Intruding into a man’s world, edited by Gertrud Pfister and Stacey Pope, the “Football Research in an Enlarged Europe book series” published by Palgrave-Macmillan now counts a total of eight published volumes. For series editors Albrecht Sonntag and David Ranc, this positive development is of course a source of great satisfaction, not only because of the quality of the work published, but also because of the sustainability of the series, which has several further volumes already “in the pipeline”.

Moreover, the collection has been praised as one of the “best-performing series in the social sciences” by Palgrave Macmillan, which is no small compliment considering that the renowned global publishing house currently has a total of 85 series in a large variety of thematic areas.
